Q: Do I need to wear a bicycle helmet?

A: Safety matters, so all riders must wear a helmet

Q: Will there be helmets available at the ride?

A: Each rider will need to bring their own helmet.

Q: Does my child need to sign a waiver?

A: Every person that is participating in the Ride must sign a waiver. Parents or guardians need to sign a waiver for anyone under the age of 18. Be sure to download, print and sign the waiver/release and bring it to check-in the morning of the ride.

Q: Will there be bicycle racks?

A: Yes. There will be bicycle racks.

Q: When will I receive my t-Shirt?

A: The morning of the ride when you check-in.

Q: Will I be guaranteed a t-shirt?

A: Your registration application must be in our office by 3/1/12 in order to be guaranteed a t-shirt.

Q: Will you have children's t-shirt sizes?

A: Children registered for the ride will receive an adult small t-shirt.

Q: Can I register on-line?

A: Yes, by going to the Active.com website.

Q: What is the cut-off date to register on-line?

A: Thursday, March 29, 2012

Q: Can I mail in my registration?

A: Yes, you can download the registration form. Make sure you complete all of the information on the form and mail it to the address on the form.

Q: What is the cost to register?

Adults
$25 plus a pledge of $100 until 2/24/12, then it goes up to $30 plus a pledge of $100

Team Members
$20 plus a pledge of $100 until 2/24/12, then it goes up to $25 plus a pledge of $100

Children (17 years and younger as of event day)*
$10 until 2/24/12 (no pledge for children)

Day of Event Registration (non-refundable)*
Adults: $130
Team Members: $125
Children 17 years old and younger: $15

  • Minimum pledge to participate is $100 fundraising for each rider 18 years old
  • Registration fee does not count toward fundraising pledge
  • Team fundraising minimum is $100 per member

Q: Do I have to sign a waiver to participate in the Ride with Me event?

A: Yes, each individual participating in the event must sign the short waiver on the registration form either mail-in or online at active.com and download, print and sign the waiver/release and bring with you to check-in the morning of the ride.

Q: What do you mean by minimum fundraising pledge to participate?

A: Each registered adult rider is required to have a sponsorship of at least $100 dollars to participate in the ride.  Be sure to use our Donation Form to record any offline donations you receive from friends, family or co-workers.

Q: Can I have people sponsor me online and keep track of my fundraising sponsors?

A: Yes, you can sign up for a fundraising page at http://www.active.com/donate/ridewithme2012 and click on the link that says “Become a Fundraiser” and follow the instructions to set up your fundraising page.

Q: What is the fundraising requirement for teams?

A: Minimum pledge to participate is $100 fundraising for each rider 18 years old and up. (Registration fee does not count toward fundraising pledge)

Q: What if I just want to make a donation and not participate in the Ride event?

A: Anyone can donate to the cause by going to http://www.active.com/donate/ridewithme2012 to make a secure tax-free donation via credit card.

Q: Can we form teams?

A: Yes, a team captain can form a team of four riders or more. After you register online at http://www.active.com/cycling/jacksonville-fl/ride-with-me-for-autism-2012 click on the “create a team” icon and create a name for your team, then register yourself and inform your team mates to register and select your team from the drop down menu. Contact cyclingteams@gmail.com to request a team captain packet.

Q: Can I participate in the event as a volunteer?

A: Yes, we welcome volunteers. To assist with the Ride, sign up on the Volunteers page. If you have any questions, email us at rideinformation@gmail.com

Q: Will there be sufficient parking and will the area be well-lit?

A: Yes, there will be parking attendants that will direct people to the parking area in front of Camp Milton on Halsema Rd. There will be an extra parking area if there is an over flow of people coming in to the ride. We will have sufficient lighting for the parking area.

Q: Will beer be available at the ride?

A: It is an official policy of city officials that alcoholic beverages are not allowed on city property.

Q: What is SAG support?

A: SAG is an acronym meaning "support and gear". A SAG wagon at a bicycling event is a vehicle which provides assistance or carries bicyclists who have withdrawn from the event (due to injury, bicycle malfunction, fatigue, etc.)

Q: Will there be an additional fee for online fundraising donations?

A: For secure, tax-free online donations on Active Giving, there is no additional fees charged to the donor.

Q: Will I receive a receipt for my tax-deductible donation?

A: Yes, you will automatically receive a confirmation and receipt of your donation via email.
